Planning and implementation
The big decision: DIY or fitter installation?
Before the project comes the initial idea. If you choose an adhesive film for your renovation or redesign, there is still the question as to whether the film will be applied by our in-house fitters, or if you fancy giving it a go yourself. Both options are possible in principle, however, depending on the project and your own perspective, one variant is always more likely to be considered than the other.
One determining factor is pricing. Whereas with do-it-yourself you only incur the cost of the materials, if you choose to have the film fitted then the cost of the labour will be added on top of this. Some cost examples show what the material costs, i.e. the cost of the DIY option, and the total price with installation. Therefore, simply take a look at the cost examples and weigh up which will be more efficient in your own personal case.
Regardless of whether you choose DIY or professional installation, preliminary work may be required depending on the degree of wear and the type of surface. Ultimately, if you want to achieve a flawless result and lasting durability, you should take a closer look at the surface to be covered before applying the film. Damaged areas, such as chipped wood varnish, or uneven areas, such as ridges or grooves, will affect the result, as the film adapts flexibly to the surface. Damage can be quickly repaired by means of filling or sanding, however, this should be planned in advance. Alternatively, the film can be applied over uneven areas in individual cases. Do It Yourself (DIY)
If you decide to go for the Do It Yourself option, you will soon find a selection of suitable styles in the online shop. To this end, take a look at the pictures in the detailed view to see if the grain and surface finish appeal. Then, using a sample from the design selection, you are sure to find the right colour and combination. This is when things really get going. Order your self-adhesive film along with the suitable fitting tool. It won’t hurt to watch the instructional videos once more, while you wait for your package to arrive. Installation by a specialist
If you want us to take care of the installation, we will need pictures of the item you plan to cover in advance, so that we can prepare a quotation, preferably already stating the desired colour and proposed date, so that we can take your wishes into account there and then, during the planning stage. Once your order has been confirmed, the date is fixed and the colour selection discussed. Now that’s your part already done. The fitters will pay you a visit on the agreed date, bringing the film and application tools with them. Depending on the size of the order, film application will take one or more working days, which will be determined during the processing of the order. The experts process the material and leave once the work is complete, taking all their belongings with them. This completes the application of the film.
